Progress continues to track slowly southward for Emporia’s 24th and Prairie waterline improvements.
There are several traffic adjustments now underway:
*The intersection of 15th and Prairie is open to eastbound and westbound travelers on 15th. It’s also open for people turning north from 15th to Prairie.
*Prairie is closed to thru traffic between Hillcrest and 24th with an eastbound detour on 24th. Prairie is also closed to thru traffic at 18th with a westbound detour on 18th.
*Prairie is closed to thru traffic north of 12th
*Prairie between 15th and 18th is northbound only and is one-lane traffic.
Weather permitting, construction could still go into fall 2025 as the city builds out over two miles of new pipe and creates over 30 new service lines and other connections.
