More moderate to heavy rainfall is in the works for the KVOE listening area Monday, along with a low-level severe weather risk.
National Weather Service meteorologist Chelsea Picha says there is a lot of confidence in the forecast when it comes to rainfall, which could range from 1-3 inches. There’s not so much confidence in the severe weather forecast.
Currently, there is a marginal severe weather risk areawide. Hail to the size of quarters and winds up to 60 mph are the main concerns. Picha also says the rain could cause isolated flooding and elevate river levels.
Monday will also be a blustery day, with non-thunderstorm winds as high as 50 mph through the day. All area counties are in a wind advisory starting at 10 or 11 am, depending on the county, and going until 6 pm.
