A traffic stop in Osage County Monday afternoon led to a Topeka man being taken to the Osage County Jail.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, a Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation at milepost 142 on US Highway 75 just before 2:40 pm. During the stop illegal narcotics were reportedly found in the vehicle driven by 59-year-old Daniel L. Bigenwalt of Topeka.
Bigenwalt was taken to the Osage County jail on suspicion of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition to the drug charges, Bigenwalt was also arrested for driving while suspended and an unspecified Osage County warrant.
Formal charges are currently pending.
