Trial could take place in January as part of an aggravated battery case and aggravated kidnapping case in Lyon County.
Justin Colby Barrett was charged after an alleged incident in July. Besides battery and kidnapping, he’s currently charged with aggravated child endangerment and criminal threat. An initial count of attempted murder has been dismissed.
As part of a motion hearing this month, Judge Jeff Larson approved state motions for endorsing additional witnesses; for reciprocal discovery; and for in limine, or disallowing improper statements at various points in trial.
Barrett has another motion hearing Dec. 20. All final pretrial motions will be addressed next month Trial is set to begin Jan. 6, with a status hearing Jan. 2.
