The Salvation Army of Emporia’s food pantry will be well stocked for the holidays thanks to the 2024 Rotary Club Grocery Grab Saturday morning.
The Salvation Army was the lucky winner of this year’s event. Salvation Army Captain Mylie Hadden was given five minutes to fill her carts with as much food as possible, and she did just that. Cpt. Hadden managed to gather nearly $1,200 worth of items for the pantry.
She says she went into the event with a plan in place.
While the food will benefit the Salvation Army, proceeds from the event’s ticket sales will support Bloom House Youth Services for the second straight year. Director Clara Corn says Saturday was a win for good causes locally.
Rotary Club President Jacque Wellnitz was pleased to see so much support for the fundraiser this year.
As always, the event was held at Good’s Cash Saver, and manager James Miller says they are always happy to help the community.
The Salvation Army was one of six finalists selected for the grocery grab. Other finalists included:
*Kylee Margritz – Ticket sold by Marshall Miller
