Local and area law enforcement agencies are now into a special Thanksgiving enforcement effort.
Lyon County Undersheriff John Koelsch tells KVOE News there are several general infractions that stand out at this time of year, especially with increased holiday traffic for the next week.
Enforcement efforts began Thursday and continue through this upcoming Sunday. Koelsch says the primary focus is seatbelt enforcement, but he says deputies are looking for all traffic infractions.
The Kansas Department of Transportation is funding overtime efforts for participating agencies, including sheriff’s offices for Lyon, Chase, Greenwood and Morris counties.
