Emporia’s SOS has received almost $200,000 as part of a federal grant program.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says SOS received $189,996 through the Victims of Crime Act, or VOCA, Victim Assistance program. VOCA helps emergency service organizations have essential services like court advocacy and criminal justice support, as well as sexual assault and/or mental health centers, forensic interviews as performed by child advocacy centers, shelters, transitional housing and transportation.
SOS is among 65 agencies splitting over $10.2 million as part of this announcement.
