A kidnapping case in Lyon County District Court has been dismissed, at least for now.
Charges of aggravated kidnapping, battery and criminal threat were filed in early September against Raydel Risell Nunez, but prosecutors asked for all charges to be dismissed as part of a hearing Wednesday because the alleged victim was unavailable, according to the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal. Judge Doug Jones agreed and dismissed the case without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled later.
Nunez was charged after allegedly holding a woman against her will and threatening her with a machete during an incident in late August.
