The Emporia High boys swim team finished fourth with 291 points in its home invitational on Thursday.
Senior Logan Woydziak had the top finish for Emporia High finishing second in the 50-yard freestyle with a state consideration time of 24.32. Luke Marshall finished sixth in the seventh with a time of 25-19. Woydziak finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56 seconds, while Marshall took sixth (57.39).
Rylan Navarro finished fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (7:27.48) while Owen Dawson took sixth (7:28.03).
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Woydziak, Collin Moody, Beckett Schultz, and Marshall finished fourth (1:45.23). The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Woydziak, Dawson, Brayden Sha,w and Marshall finished third (4:10.91). Moody finished ninth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:28.34) while Brayden Sweet took 10th (1:37.82). The 200-yard medley relay team of Evan James, Chesney Erkel, Hunter Symmonds, and Moody finished 10th (2:27.15). EHS finished 6th, 7th, and 8th in the 200-yard freestyle with Dawson (2:37.94), Shaw (2:39.08 and Navarro (2:44.11). Shaw also finished seventh in the 500 free (7:38.47). Erkel finished 10th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:41.94).
Head coach Phil Metz said it was a solid first meet for the Spartans.
Emporia High will head to Lansing for a meet on Saturday.
