Emporia Fire handled a small multi-level fire Sunday evening.
Fire crews were dispatched to 1924 West 24th at the Four Seasons Apartments complex shortly after 6:45 pm. Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says a grill was being used on a third-floor balcony, and embers from the grill floated down to a second-story balcony. Both areas caught fire, although the fires were small in both locations and were quickly put out.
No injuries were reported.
Conley says grills are not allowed above ground level, especially if they sit on porches or balconies containing wood.
