Nearly 90 years of local holiday tradition be on full display through USD 253 Emporia this week.
The 89th Seasonal Celebration is coming to White Auditorium on Wednesday and Thursday. USD 253 Director of Community Relations Lyndel Landgren says the event is a point of pride for the district. He also says there will be different procedures for those attending the dress rehearsal Wednesday afternoon and the official performances Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Landgren thanked several district departments for their work, including Transportation and Maintenance. He also thanked White Auditorium staff for their work in getting the venue ready for both the Seasonal Celebration and other activities, as well as Coffelt Signs for printing the programs and donating that service to the district.
The dress rehearsal is at noon Wednesday. The Seasonal Celebration performances are at 7 pm Wednesday and Thursday. Suggested donation is $5 for adults, while students and younger children can get in for free. There will be sign language interpreters both nights and a special section for hearing-impaired attendees.
