There is a plea instead of a trial in the case of an Emporia man originally accused of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, attempted aggravated kidnapping and other counts in Lyon County District Court.
Juan Baza-Morales pleaded no contest to single counts of battery, victim or witness intimidation and attempted criminal restraint as part of a plea agreement finalized Wednesday. Sentencing will now be Jan. 29.
Baza-Morales was arrested after an alleged incident in April where he allegedly used a firearm to hold the victim against his will and intimidate him.
