Two weeks after fire destroyed a house in Olpe, the investigation continues into its cause and origination point.
The Office of Kansas State Fire Marshal has been leading the investigation for the vast majority of time since the fire at 730 Kansas Highway 99 on Nov. 30. Fire Marshal Public Information Manager Lance Feyh tells KVOE News the special agent leading the investigation still has several leads to follow before making any sort of determination. Feyh has also said the “extensive destruction” from the fire is making “scene examination difficult.”
The home’s current owner, Suzan Stroup-Reed, has told KVOE News she was out of town when the fire developed. She also says the over 3,000-square-foot home was on the market as part of a downsizing effort.
