Local families and residents had some extended opportunities to take a stroll through the David Traylor Zoo over the last two weekends.
The zoo hosted its very first pair of Holiday Light Strolls this past Saturday and the Saturday before allowing residents to walk through the zoo and enjoy the more than six miles worth of holiday lights adorning it this year. Zoo Assistant Office Manager Kristi Smith spoke with KVOE News Saturday evening and noted they saw a lot of new faces passing through their doors thanks to the event.
She says like the holiday season the main theme of the stroll was family and togetherness.
The stroll events followed the annual Happy Holidaze lighting ceremony from earlier this month and it appears like it will be a regular holiday tradition moving forward. Several hundred families and individuals passed through the zoo’s doors to take advantage of the opportunity to engage with the zoo’s various residents under the glow of the holiday lights.
