Trial is tentatively set to begin early next month in a Lyon County criminal case that originally started with a lead charge of attempted murder.
Justin Colby Barrett had been charged with attempted first-degree murder and six other counts, including three counts of aggravated battery, and single counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated child endangerment and criminal threat. The legal complaint was amended last month, removing the attempted murder count altogether and replacing one aggravated kidnapping count with an alternate aggravated kidnapping charge.
Barrett still faces three different aggravated battery counts, as well as single counts of aggravated child endangerment and criminal threat.
Barrett is tentatively set for trial to begin Jan. 6. A status hearing is set for Jan. 2.
