A big announcement could be coming from organizers leading the fundraising charge for the Olpe Fitness Park Project according to an update on KVOE’s Morning Show Monday.
Tyler Schmidt of the Fitness Park project announced they have “a few things coming” in the next few days that could help them hit their phase one construction fundraising goal of $2.5 million.
Organizers have been pushing hard in recent weeks to reach the goal by the end of the year and Schmidt says they have been “very blessed” in recent months on that end. Phase one construction on the project is set to include a new football stadium, including a field, eight-lane track, bleachers, press box and fencing; as well as the start of a fitness trail.
Other aspects of the project have included a splash pad, which was already the focus of separate fundraising efforts before the larger project was announced, as well as a new basketball court, a new softball field, a new layout for the baseball field and a field house including a community center, community weight room and early childcare center.
In addition to the update on the fundraising campaign, Schmidt and Jodi Brinkman also discussed the upcoming second annual Green Machine Gala which is on the calendar for Saturday, February 8 in Olpe. Brinkman says the setup for the event next year will be very similar to the inaugural event last year.
The 2023 gala managed to generate just under $100,000 for the project. For more information visit the Green Machine Gala Facebook page.
