Thick fog has become stubborn fog for the KVOE listening area this week.
Visibility has been three blocks or less — roughly a quarter-mile or less — for much of the area since late afternoon Thursday with the latest round of fog. Dense fog advisories have been in place areawide since late afternoon or early evening, depending on the county, and continue until noon.
The fog has been noticeable in an off-and-on manner since Christmas morning. Visibility has been under a quarter-mile at times Wednesday and Thursday mornings. More patchy fog is possible Friday evening through late Saturday morning before conditions finally clear and we see some sunshine.
With the fog back in effect Friday, drivers need to slow down, use low-beam headlights and increase the driving distance between vehicles.
