Southbound drivers wanting to get onto the Kansas Turnpike at Emporia’s tollgate can now do so after a brief closure Friday morning.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority says the southbound entry ramp was temporarily closed after a semi slid off the highway around 6:30 am. Authorities closed the ramp around 7:30 am and reopened it by shortly after 8 am.
No injuries were reported.

Southbound drivers wanting to get onto the Kansas Turnpike at Emporia’s tollgate, mile marker 127, can’t do that for a while Friday morning.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority says the southbound entry ramp is temporarily closed after a semi slid off the highway around 6:30 am. Authorities closed the ramp around 7:30 am. No injuries have been reported.
The Turnpike Authority says drivers can go north on the highway to the Emporia service area at mile marker 132 and then return southbound.
There is currently no timetable for reopening the ramp.
