The MIAA released the conference’s composite football schedule for 2025 on Thursday. The Emporia State football team will open up the season in Week 0 hosting Minot State. The Beavers finished 2024 with a 5-6 record while going 4-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Hornets will then make their first road trip of the season to return a home-and-home series with Angelo State. The Hornets defeated the Rams last season at Welch Stadium 17-12. The Rams went on to run the table in the Lone Star Conference to go 9-0 and win the league on the way to falling in the first round of the NCAA playoffs. ESU will then take their bye week in Week 2 before playing their entire nine-game MIAA slate consecutively. The Hornets will open conference play on the road at Nebraska-Kearney before hosting Pittsburg State in Week 4. Other home games include Missouri Southern, Northwest Missouri and Fort Hays State. They’ll visit Missouri Western, Central Oklahoma, Central Missouri, and Washburn. Kickoff times will be released at a later time. Coverage is planned on the Hornet Sports Network/Mix 104.9.
