The 2026 election cycle is officially months down the road, but there is already traffic for the state’s top government position.
Current Secretary of State Scott Schwab has announced his campaign for governor. A conservative Republican, Schwab says his priorities include job, tax cuts, reduced regulations, election security and traditional family values.
Schwab’s announcement is the first of what could be several for the governor’s seat on both the Republican and Democrat side as current governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, finishes her second term next year.
