One of two defendants in an Emporia aggravated robbery case will return to court in March. The other had his case dismissed.
Sheantel Thompson, age 23 of Sedan, saw her preliminary hearing delayed to March 26 after a court appearance Monday. This follows a change in defense counsel from Paul Dean, who reported an unspecified conflict, to Ty Wheeler.
Meanwhile, Malik Dorsey, age 24 of Emporia, saw his case dismissed — at least for now — as part of a hearing Wednesday. Dorsey’s case was dismissed without prejudice, giving prosecutors a way to refile charges later if they so choose.
Both were charged with aggravated robbery following an alleged incident Dec. 18. Thompson also has single counts of aggravated witness or victim intimidation, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
