Emporia State soccer coach Jane Grimley-Gunn has added four high school players to her incoming class of Lady Hornets for 2025. Jordan Clig played defender at Coppell High School (Texas) where she was a four-year starter and was First Team All-District twice. Kadyn Gottmann signed as a goalkeeper out of St. Pius X HS in St. Louis, Mo. where she helped lead the Lancers to a state runner-up finish in 2022. Dahlia Placino played defender at McKinney Boyd High School in Texas and has been named First Team All-District in all three of her seasons. She also has played internationally for the Phillipines U-17 National Team. Sammy Quiroz will join E-State from Celina High School in Texas and is a club teammate of Clig and Placino on Dallas Texans ECNL. Quiroz has led the Lady Bobcats to three state champions has twice been named First Team All-State. Grimley-Gunn will begin her second season at the helm of Emporia State soccer this fall. Under her direction, the Lady Hornets finished 6-8-3 with a 4-6-2 record in the MIAA in 2024 and finished tied for eighth in the league standings but missed the MIAA Tournament on tiebreakers.
