In the girls game, Hartford would shake off a slow first half to rally back and down the Lady Bulldogs by one, 43-42.
Madison would lead the Lady Jaguars through the entire first half taking a 25-18 lead into the locker room. In the third quarter, Hartford would outcome Madison 15-7 to lead by one, 33-32, at the start of the fourth.
Following four lead changes and two ties, Hartford managed to come out on top 43-42. Hartford was led in scoring by senior Trinity Windle with 13 points.
Senior Tobye Sull also ended the night in double figures with 11. Head Coach Ryan Thomas called it a gutsy win for his girls.
Madison was led in scoring by senior Jalynn Weakley with 11 points.
The boys game would almost mirror the girls, as Hartford would rally in the second half to pick up an overtime 45-43 win over the Bulldogs.
Madison outshot and outscored the Jaguars early in the game but could never fully pull away taking a slim 21-17 lead into the half. The third quarter was all Hartford as the Jaguars outscored Madison 15-8 and held the Bulldogs scoreless through the first half of the fourth quarter.
Madison would then rally back and trade the lead with the Jaguars three times, however, a last-minute shot attempt by Madison would just miss sending the game to overtime.
In the extra frame, a late bucket and trip to the foul line for Hartford junior Keenan Renfrow would put the Jaguars ahead 45-43 and Madison was unable to answer sealing the Hartford sweep.
The Jaguars were led in scoring by sophomore Coy Wilkinson with 19 points. Tuesday’s victory for Hartford followed a loss to Lebo on Monday where the Jaguars gave up a late lead in the fourth.
Head Coach Colten Barrett says he was proud of how his team corrected themselves from the night before.
Madison was led in scoring Tuesday by junior Octavian Dean and senior Colten Isch both with 13 points. Senior Cade Hurlburt added 10.
