The third installment of Emporia Main Street’s newest and arguably one of its most popular events is coming later this week.
The Winter Jigsaw Jam will take place Wednesday, Kansas Day, inside the Lyon County History Center. Once again, the competition will consist of two divisions, couples and teams, with prizes awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
As mentioned earlier, the competition has become a fan favorite both locally and abroad since the first event last year. Community Development Coordinator for Main Street Jessica Buchholz says the reception for the first competition was a bit surprising but has now become the norm.
As of Monday, Buchholz says there is still one slot open for a team to participate. If you have a team and would like to take part you can contact the Main Street offices by calling 620-340-6430.
The competition will begin at 6 pm and teams will have two hours to solve their puzzles once again provided by Trox Gallery and Gifts. Teams are welcome to bring additional lighting sources, beverages and snacks to the event.
For those not wanting to participate, but would like to watch the competition, spectators are welcome free of charge. For more information contact Emporia Main Street or visit Emporiamainstreet.com.
