Travelers to the Super Bowl have a lot of sticker shock ahead.
Tickets are at least $4,000 per ticket, according to Kansas AAA Manager of Public and Government Affairs Shawn Steward. On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, Steward says air fare costs vary, depending on how long your trip may be.
Similar prices are in effect if you plan to use Kansas City International.
Other sticker shock may well come with lodging, already running more than $1,000 per night for hotels near the Caesars Superdome, where the Super Bowl will be played. Hotels near Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport are significantly cheaper but are still around $350 per night.
Car rental costs are around $230 for a four-day weekend rental, and that’s with a AAA membership. Gas prices, however, remain at around $2.81 a gallon in Kansas and are around $2.77 a gallon in Louisiana.
The Super Bowl featuring the Kansas City Chiefs, seeking their third straight title, and the Philadelphia Eagles, is Feb. 9. Coverage will be on Country 101.7 FM.
