One person has been arrested after allegedly making a threat against USD 421 Lyndon.
A news release from Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells does not specify when the social media threat was made, but Wells says a suspect was identified and taken into custody Saturday afternoon. The person’s name has not been released. The nature of the threat has also not been divulged.
USD 421 Interim Superintendent Paul Dorathy says the threat was noticed by several vigilant parents and reported to the district and law enforcement. USD 421 will have class on a regular schedule Monday with additional law enforcement at schools, additional counselors on hand and an extra emphasis on safety measures.
Wells says there is apparently no immediate danger, but he is asking people to be watchful and report anything relevant to the Sheriff’s Office at 785-828-3121. Wells and Dorathy also say their employees take threats seriously and continues to investigate this incident. Sheriff’s Office investigators are working with USD 421 as their work continues.
