Republicans in the Kansas Legislature say they will follow President Donald Trump’s lead as they work to remove income taxes from tips.
US Senator Roger Marshall joined Senate President Ty Masterson, Senate Tax Comittee Chair Caryn Tyson and other state lawmakers in proclaiming the state’s plan to follow the President’s No Tax on Tips Initiative. Marshall says the initiative will help families have more money to spend, while Tyson says this push is part of an effort to both simplify the state tax code and help service workers at the same time.
Masterson says the Kansas legislation will mirror what passes in Congress.
