It was a quick turnaround for the Emporia High boys swim team hosting a makeup meet Monday at Emporia High.
The Spartans finished second as a team with 503 points, 21 points behind team champion Seaman. Emporia High had two first place finishes. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Logan Woydziak, Luke Marshall, Brayden Shaw and Collin Moody won the event in 1:44.70. Woydziak won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.14.
Taegan Kelley finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:25.48. Woydziak finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.37). Chesney Erkel finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:32.05.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Beckett Schultz, Bryce Heinen, Logan Woydziak and Luke Marshall finished third with a time of 2:04.53. Heinen finished third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:28.84). Marshall finished third in the 100-yard freestyle (57.44) while also taking second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:20.71).
Emporia High coach Phil Metz liked how the Spartans swam in their second meet in three days.
Emporia High will travel to Maize on Saturday.
