Two years probation is the sentence handed down in a Lyon County mistreatment case.
Juan Diego Romero-Hernandez was sentenced to 24 months probation during a hearing last week. He also has a 21-month prison term for any probation violations and must pay restitution of almost $15,000.
Romero-Hernandez had been charged after a woman said she was called by a man claiming to be a bondsman and needing money to get her relative out of jail shortly before Christmas 2023. The suspect then received cash from the victim shortly afterward.
