An Emporia man will spend over six years incarcerated after convictions on aggravated battery, aggravated witness intimidation and other counts.
Lyon County District Judge Laura Miser has sentenced Travis Westcott to 68 months in prison after violent activity against a woman between March 2020 and May 2023. The controlling sentence was 32 months for aggravated battery, with another 18 months for intimidation and 12 for a separate aggravated battery count. Westcott also spends 12 months in the Lyon County Jail for lesser counts.
Separately, Westcott is in court proceedings in a separate Lyon County case involving charges of aggravated witness intimidation and violating a protection order. The court docket in that case includes a trial status hearing March 5, followed by potential trial start dates of March 10, March 24 or March 31.
