The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board has one business item on the agenda for its monthly meeting this week.
Board members will revisit a request for a zoning change request at 1027 Road 70 to Agriculture-Conditional Use, Event Space. Danielle Cottman’s request initially came before the Planning and Appeals Board in December with a request to turn an implement barn into a short-term lodging space with restrooms and other amenities, but neighbors balked over concerns about alcohol use, off-street parking availability, overall traffic and a general sense the project “doesn’t fit the neighborhood.”
The Planning and Appeals Board had originally voted on approving the request, but the motion died for lack of a second. The item was presented to the County Commission as recommended denial, but there was no official vote by Planning and Appeals after the first motion died, so the item has returned to the board.
The meeting is at 7 pm Wednesday at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex.
