USD 386 Madison-Virgil has chosen its next superintendent.
Following a special meeting Thursday, the Board of Education announced Dallas Woolf as its new leader. Woolf is currently the principal at USD 407 Russell High School, but he has also had leadership roles at USD 349 Stafford and USD 431 Hoisington, including principal, curriculum director and athletics director. All told, Woolf has 23 years of experience in education, including 16 in administration.
Woolf also earned his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Friends University as well as his district-level licensure from Emporia State.
The district says it gravitated towards Woolf due to his expertise in curriculum, career and technical education, early childhood programs and community partnerships, as well as his focus on expanding career pathways, building relationships and student success.
Bucklin Superintendent Amy Ricks and Hartford-Neosho Rapids Principal Lewis Whitson were also finalists.
