Though he is a new face to USD 386 Madison-Virgil, recently named incoming Superintendent Dallas Woolf says he is already very familiar with the district.
This familial connection was one of the reasons Woolf chose to apply for the position following the announcement of current Superintendent Tammy Baird’s upcoming retirement, an appointment Woolf calls a great fit as he believes his personal goals and the district’s dedication to student success align almost perfectly.
Though he doesn’t officially assume his new role until the summer, Woolf says he plans to “hit the ground running” once that time comes. Amongst his main priorities will be increasing relationships with technical education providers, such as Flint Hills Technical College, to provide more opportunities for students to succeed both before and after graduation.
Woolf is one of three new superintendents announced in the last week as Thursday, USD 284 Chase County announced Aaron Dody as its next Superintendent and USD 421 Lyndon selected Kimberly Woolf, the wife of Dallas Woolf, as its next leader. Dallas Woolf spoke to this news with KVOE and says being married to a fellow superintendent has been a great resource for himself and his wife saying they are constantly bouncing ideas off one another on various ways to improve their respective districts and schools.
Currently, the principal of USD 407 Russell High School, Woolf brings more than 20 years of educational experience to Madison-Virgil having also served as a principal, curriculum director and athletics director at USD 349 Stafford and USD 431 Hoisington. Woolf also holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Friends University and earned his district-level licensure from Emporia State University.
Woolf is also the husband of incoming USD 421 Lyndon Superintendent Kimberly Woolf. Dallas Woolf will officially take over as USD 386 Superintendent on July 1.
