Lyon County Commissioners had a busy action session Thursday morning.
As part of their lengthy agenda, commissioners approved several requests from various department heads, including Comunity Corrections Director Erin Rodriguez, who sought permission for four staff members to attend the National Association of Drug Court Professional Conference in Florida May 28-31. Registration, meals, and total costs will be covered by Casey Family Program funds up to $5,180.
Meanwhile, County Engineer Chip Woods sought approval of three quotes for 2025 sealing and patching projects.
Commissioners also approved the renewal of the GeoPermits Portal from Schneider Geospatial for planning, zoning and floodplain permitting sought by planning and zoning administrator Sam Seeley and a travel request from Misty Williams of LCAT to attend the 2025 Association of Mobility Managers Conference in Edmond, Oklahoma, April 5-8.
In addition to the action items listed, commissioners also received a presentation from County Appraiser Ryan Janzen on the 2025 valuation notices sent out to residents Wednesday. Tracey Barton of the Kansas Natural Resource Coalition, which monitors the federal government’s outreach in the areas of human environment, natural resources and land use.
Commissioners will reconvene for their weekly action session next Thursday at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
