Kansas Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after a wreck that shut down traffic on the Kansas Turnpike for several hours Friday.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority says a northbound semi and pickup pulling a trailer crashed shortly before noon near mile marker 101, 26 miles southwest of the Emporia tollgate and four miles northeast of the Matfield Green service exit. The crash closed down northbound traffic until almost 8 pm, with southbound traffic reopening around 5:30 pm after being closed for about two hours.
Further crash details have not been released.
