Emporia Fire handled a small grass fire Sunday night.
Fire Capt. Greg Davis says crews were dispatched to an incident in the 1200 block of Road 220, about four miles north of Emporia’s northern city limits, around 9:30 pm. Davis says a small burn pile got away into some nearby grass. No injuries were reported.
Davis urges landowners to have enough water or other fire suppression measures on hand whenever they have planned burns.
