Multiple area teams clinched tickets to sub-state championship games on Monday night.
Olpe withstood a seven point first quarter deficit, to defeat Canton-Galva 71-46.
Canton-Galva took control of the first quarter, powered by an 11-0 run before Olpe scored the last bucket of the quarter with Canton-Galva leading 15-10.
Olpe stormed out to 12 straight points in the first three minutes of the second quarter, over-taking the lead they would not relinquish the rest of the ballgame.
Olpe’s lead would build to ten, 33-23 at the half.
Olpe head coach Chris Schmidt was proud of how his team came out in the second quarter.
The second half saw Olpe continue to control the game, with their lead getting to as large as 30 in the fourth quarter.
Dexton Hoelting led all scorers with 24 points.
Olpe will face Central Burden Saturday for a trip to Dodge City at Canton-Galva High School. Central Burden defeated Madison, 43-24.
Lebo defeated Caldwell 50-16 behind 11 points behind Drew Konrade. Lebo will face Hartford Saturday for a trip to Colby at McPherson’s Central Christian College. Hartford defeated Peabody-Burns, 69-30.
Other scores from Monday, Burlingame boys defeated Troy 79-60 behind a school record 44 points from Drake Skirvin. Burlingame will face Clifton-Clyde for a trip to Dodge City on Saturday at Centralia. Elyria Christian ended Waverly’s season, 61-30.
