President Donald Trump spoke for over 90 minutes Tuesday night, outlining the agenda for his current term in office before a joint session of Congress.
Trump praised the work of the new — and controversial — Department of Government Efficiency as led by Elon Musk.
Trump also briefly mentioned the situation between the United States, Russia and Ukraine after Trump’s stormy meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy. Trump says Zelenskyy sent him a letter updating the situation.
Kansas Second District Congressman Derek Schmidt says “strength is back in the White House” and Republicans are acting quickly to enact the full Trump agenda.
Democrats, on the other hand, were visibly opposed. Some held signs saying “False” and “Musk steals” throughout the speech. At least one representative was removed and several walked out of the speech.
