The season wrapped up for the Emporia High bowling teams at the Class 5A State Bowling Championships on Wednesday in Wichita.
The Spartans finished third with a series of 3,409, 80 behind runner-up Piper and 239 behind state champion Andover Central. Nate Green was the top Spartan individual finishing sixth with a 693. Jacob Kamprath finished 13th with a 656. Colton Swift finished 15th with a 645.
The Lady Spartans finished seventh with a series of 2,751. Emporia High had two medalists. Taylor McKay finished 11th with a 575 series and Sophia Hill finished 19th with a 542 series.
