Several area road and bridge projects have final contract approvals from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Coffey County has two projects moving forward. Kansas Highway 58 will have a nearly 14-mile milling and overlay project from LeRoy east to the US Highway 169 junction in Anderson County. Bettis Asphalt & Construction of Topeka is the main contractor after a bid of more than $2.3 million.
Also, US Highway 75 will have a better than 16-mile milling and overlay project zone from near Burlington’s northern city limits north to BETO Junction. Bettis won this contract with a better than $3.4 million bid.
In Greenwood County, US Highway 400 will have over 15 miles of guard fence work from the highway’s east junction with Kansas Highway 99 east to the Wilson County line. That contract goes to Barkley Construction of Wichita after a bid of almost $1.8 million.
Morris County will see work on Kansas Highway 177 from near South 850 Road into Council Grove, or almost 3.5 miles of grading and surfacing work. Bob Bergkamp Construction of Wichita got the contract with a better than $9.5 million bid.
Construction timetables have not been announced with any of these projects.
