An Emporia nursing facility is among over 40 across Kansas that will be part of a new quality improvement program.
Flint Hills Care & Rehab Center is among 43 entities that have been approved to implement the Skilled Nursing Facilities, or SNF Clinic quality improvement program. SNF Clinic is web-based and gives nursing home staffers “easy access to essential education and care resources.” The goal is to give nursing home residents high-level care by giving healthcare workers “necessary knowledge and tools.”
The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are working together on this effort. SNF Clinic’s developer, Long-Term Care Consultants LLC, has worked with CMS and 20 other states to make this system available. LTCC General Legal Counsel Benjamin Meeker says this announcement makes the SNF Clinic system available to more than 3,000 licensed nursing home beds across Kansas. Meeker also says SNF Clinic held discussions with several nursing facilities expressing interest in the program.
This is a three-year project. Performance and progress reports will be published on the KDADS website.
