Emporia Police Capt. Lisa Hayes has completed specialized training from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Hayes spent the last 10 weeks working through the FBI National Academy, a 10-week development program with advanced training in best practices, investigations and leadership.
Hayes began with Emporia Police as an animal control officer in 1998, shifting to patrol in 2000. Since then, she has served as detective, patrol sergeant and administrative sergeant before assuming her current role as Captain of Investigations.
Hayes is now among less than one percent of law enforcement officers worldwide chosen to attend.
