A trip back to the Class 1A Division II State Championship game fell just short for the Lebo girls basketball team against Hanover in a 1A-DII semifinal Friday night in Colby.
Hanover hung on for a 37-34 victory despite a Lebo 3-pointer not dropping at the final buzzer. Hanover led 9-4 after one and 17-12 at halftime. Lebo took a brief one-point lead in the fourth quarter but Hanover responded and didn’t relinquish the lead back. Saige Hadley led the way for Lebo with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Lebo coach Patrick Gardner said it was a tough loss.
Lebo (21-3) will play for third place against Attica at Noon Saturday. The Mel’s Tire Pregame Show will begin at 11:50 a.m. on Country 101.7 FM.
