One person suffered reportedly minor injuries and was taken to the hospital following a two vehicle collision in West Central Emporia.
The accident was reported just before 8 pm at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Gloria. According to Emporia Police, a westbound Dodge Durango was traveling along 12th when an eastbound Ford Focus reportedly failed to yield and attempted to make a left turn off 12th.
The vehicles then collided and forced the Focus into the front yard of a residence at the northwest corner of the intersection damaging a “decorative fence” on the property. Full damage reports are not available.
The driver of the Durango was examined at the scene and taken to Newman for further treatment of what police called minor injuries. The occupants of the Focus, a driver and passenger, did not require a trip to the hospital.
Names of those involved have not been released. Emporia Police have not determined if citations will be issued at this time.
