The first of several events for the annual Newman Regional Health Denim and Diamonds fundraising effort is coming up soon and it’s a sell-out.
Newman Regional Health will kick off fundraising for D&D with its now-annual golf tournament next Friday, May 2, at the Emporia Golf Course. Newman Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Kacie Hastings, a guest of KVOE’s Morning Show on Tuesday, announced the event has a full field and they couldn’t be more excited.
The tournament will begin with check-in at 8 am followed by a shotgun start at 9 am. Lunch will be provided.
Although the tournament is full up at this time, Hastings says there are still plenty of activities coming up over the next several months where residents can help support Denim and Diamonds. This includes the annual BBQ meal fundraiser Thursday, May 8th at 11 am.
The main event this year will be held inside Emporia State University’s Webb Hall on Friday, August 1.
Tickets for the event will go on sale July 1 and Hastings says it is best not to wait too long to get yours.
All proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will go to support new imaging equipment and upgrades to the hospital’s WS and EC Jones Cardiovascular Lab.
