The Emporia State women’s tennis team swept Arkansas-Fort Smith to punch their ticket to the MIAA Tournament on Friday. The Lady Hornets started by winning the doubles point with victories at #2 and #3 doubles. E-State then swept the Lady Lions in six singles matches winning each in straight sets. Paige Stranghoner led the way winning 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles while Giovanna Ferreira clinched the dual at #1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win. The Lady Hornets will make the trip to Springfield, Mo. for the MIAA Tournament beginning May 4.
