Over 10 artists from across the country will call Matfield Green home — at least to a degree — as part of the Kansas Arts Commission’s Tallgarss Artist Residency program.
Artists will have time and space “to retreat and research.” They will give a public program during their residency period and they will also take part in a group exhibit and symposium at Matfield Green’s Fall Gathering on Oct 4.
This year’s Tallgrass Artists-in-Residence are:
*Rachel Atakpa, Lawrence
*Justice Catron, Manhattan
*Mark Cowardin, Lawrence
*Clay Gonzalez, Ypsilanti, Michigan
*Caroline Honas, Kansas City, Kansas
*Aimee Inglis, Pawhuska, Oklahoma
*Carrie Miller, Longmont, Colorado
*Jason Reed, New Braunfels, Texas
*Kory Reeder, Denton, Texas
*Erin Wiersma and Katie Kingery-Page, Manhattan
This is the 10th year of the program. Nearly 100 artists have participated since it began in 2016.
