Weary but elated, the participants in the most recent Honor Flight through USD 252 Southern Lyon County are now home.
The contingent got home from Washington, DC, on Tuesday night after a jam-packed schedule of visits to different landmarks and historical locations in and around the nation’s capital. Navy veteran Bobby Key Jr of Olpe says he enjoyed the trip and his time with the students.
Hartford High student Keilee Finnerty was on her second trip and says both were amazing.
Olpe student Bridget Judd was glad to see veterans get recognized for their service.
Navy veteran Max Raber of Emporia traveled with his daughter and grandson. He was complimentary of the students on the trip.
In all, this trip included 23 veterans and 23 student guardians. This was the 14th trip for USD 252 over the last decade.
