The #49 Emporia State men’s tennis team fell 4-2 to #36 Ouachita Baptist in the first round of the MIAA/GAC Tournament on Wednesday. The Hornets took the early lead with two doubles wins including Luke West and Anton Sarunic squeaking out a 7-6 victory at #2 doubles to capture the doubles point. The Hornets took a 2-0 lead when Alexis Mattenberger swept his opponent at #3 singles 6-2, 6-2, but the Hornets didn’t win another set the rest of the day. The Hornets fall to 11-8 and will await their NCAA Tournament fate.
