The Northwest Missouri baseball team did their damage in three big innings and that was enough to beat the Hornets 12-5 in the second game of a three game series in Maryville, Mo. on Friday. With the win, the Bearcats take the series with one game to play. ESU took the lead with two runs in the fifth on a sacrifice fly and a Noah Steele single, but the Hornets gave up four runs in the bottom of the fifth and never led again. ESU scored single runs on a Logan Myers hit in the sixth and a T. J. Racherbaumer solo shot in the seventh, but Northwest plated three in the seventh and four in the eighth to take the series. Trent Warstler (0-4) gave up eight hits and seven runs in relief of Seth Stover to take the loss. Racherbaumer went 3-for-5 with two runs. E-State will try to salvage game three in the regular season finale beginning at noon on Saturday.
